Initiated in 2000, the Online Resource Center has now been enhanced to acccomodate discussion forums, a digital library, e-training, and online support to NGOs for which SAATHII offers capacity-building. The ORC is a collaborative effort between SAATHII and Janastu, a Bangalore-based IT NGO. Funding support is from the Pan-Asia Networking ICT R&D Grants Programme, administered by the Asian Media Information and Comunication Center, Singapore. The Online Resource Center has four suite of services: These are interactive discussion forums designed for various category of people working in the field of HIV/AIDS. Currently forums on anti-retroviral therapy, nutrition, counseling, infected, affected and vulnerable children, home based care, UNGASS 2006 are available. The digital library under ORC serves as a repository of information on HIV/AIDS and allied issues in the form of articles, manuals, abstracts, training modules etc., It also houses sub-components like HIV News from India, conferences, trainings and workshops, job vacancy announcements, and grants and fellowship details. Users can retrieve as well as contribute information to this growing collection of resources. SAATHII, as part of its technical capacity-building activities, offers a variety of training and skill-building courses on such subjects as biostatistics and research methods, nutrition, documentation, advocacy and program evaluation, gender and sexuality, STD/HIV prevention and behaviour change communication development. It is mandate for the users to register to access the instructional modules. This section includes private forums on such areas as proposal writing, documentation and data analysis for key NGO partners receiving off-line capacity building support from SAATHII.
