(d) A scene from "Piku Bhalo Aachchey" (Piku Is Fine), a 48-minute Bengali docu-feature film made by medical student Tirthankar Guha Thakurta and his friends, and part produced by SAATHII Calcutta. The film narrates the story of how a gay man called Piku comes to terms with his sexuality, and also blends in interviews with three Calcutta-based sexuality activists. Since its completion in June 2004 the film has been screened at several film festivals, sexuality conferences and human rights events in Bangalore, Calcutta, Chennai and Mumbai, and covered widely by the print and audio-visual media.

If you want to view the film, please contact our reference library. Screenings can be arranged at the library. Limited VCD copies of the film are available for purchase from the filmmaker and we can help interested people get in touch with him
