Mobile ICTC
It is often seen that high-risk/vulnerable populations are less likely to access fixed-facility ICTCs due to several impediments like the most important ones being distance and timing. Mobile ICTC can be one way of taking a package of health services into the community. EGPAF – SAATHII will work in collaboration with Andhra Pradesh State AIDS Control Society and District AIDS Prevention Control Unit at district level in planning and execution of mobile ICTC services in Adilabad and Nizamabad districts.
The AP PPP PMTCT team will oversee the planning and execution of Mobile ICTC services.
Project Period: January 2010 to December 2010
Purpose of Mobile ICTC
The purpose of setting up a NACO certified Mobile Integrated Counselling and Testing Centre through a public private partnership (PPP) with SAATHII is to provide access to quality mobile HIV counselling and testing services with flexible working hours that are convenient to clients who are residents of hard-to-reach areas (urban, rural & tribal areas) in Adilabad and Nizamabad districts, where services are provided ranging from regular health check-up, HIV counseling and testing services, syndromic treatment for STI/reproductive tract infection (RTI) and other minor ailments, antenatal care, as well as immunization.
