Santi Seva Development Project
Capacity Building of Santi Seva Support Group for Male-to-Female Transgender Communities in Bhadrak, Orissa (2008-09)
Funded by American Jewish World Service, New York
This project aims to improve the overall well being of Hijras, Maichiyas and other male-to-female transgender populations in the Bhadrak district of Orissa, and reduce their vulnerability to HIV. Towards this end, the project is strengthening the capacity of Santi Seva, one of the first and few community-based organizations for transgender populations in Orissa, to sustain itself and provide livelihood, adult (non-formal) education, health and social security support to transgender populations in Bhadrak, Orissa.
